Volleyball Tournaments

Been watching the Olympics?? Inspired by all of the Beach Volleyball you've been seeing??

Well...... Hilding's family is planning the Volleyball Tournament and they wanted you to know that.....

This year we will be having 2 volleyball tournaments:

One for Under 40 and one for Over 40. They have also come up with a way to speed up the games, so we should have plenty of time for both tourneys.

This info can help you as you are thinking of playing or in case you would like to get a team together before sign ups!

The Leafblad Family Gift Shop

Are you a musician with a CD? A knitter with more baby hats than you know what to do with?

A photographer with a knack for finding the perfect picture?

Then, The Leafblad Family Gift Shop is for YOU!

At the reunion, there will be a table with various products for sale- products that YOU have created! There is so much creativity in our family, that we should support each other and share our talents with our family!

*If you have a product to sell, bring at least ONE SAMPLE for the table.
*If you have a small inventory already prepared, you can bring that as well.
*Shoppers will....
1. Shop the table throughout the week
2. Sign up for your product
*Sellers will....
1. Connect with those on the sign up to receive payment.
2. Then either give them the product immediately OR you can send the product by mail after the reunion (if you don't have enough in your current inventory).

No sign up necessary! Just bring a sample (and small inventory if you have it) and set up at the table provided!

.... the 2012 Reunion! Information was just sent out regarding all sorts of details (schedule, family assignments, etc.) so be sure to CHECK YOUR EMAIL! Also make sure your family is checking their email and are aware of all of these updates!

Only 58 days away!

It is only 58 days until our next family reunion on August 9-12! The main purpose of this post is to remind each of you and your families to register for your housing. We have until Monday, June 18 to register exclusively for the reserved rooms. After that time, the rooms are open to the general public. We are a little concerned that the reservations are down from the last reunion, so we’re writing this letter! We will be contacting representatives of the cousin generation with lists of those who have registered, so you can make sure everyone attends this important event.

Our location is Green Lake Convention Center in the middle of lovely Wisconsin. Check it out at glcc.org. The rooms at Bauer and Roger Williams (where the bulk of us will be staying) start at $115 per night per room (single or double occupancy) with $15 extra for each additional adult (21 and over) in the room. Some rooms hold 2 with others holding 3, 4, 5 or even 6. Children and youth, under age 21, in rooms with parents, stay free. There is no charge for cribs used in lieu of beds. Some of you have requested to camp or be in cabins and those arrangements have also been made. Just call 920-294-3323 and a friendly person will help you out.

As of today, most of the rooms at Bauer Lodge are filled. But, there are rooms at Roger Williams (and other areas). The rooms at RW are smaller and hold up to three, but you can add cots and/or cribs. The RW rooms are the ones we suggest for our older folks because they are nearer to activities.

As you recall from last time, the food at Green Lake is fantastic. The cost of nine meals and five coffee hours (lemonade, coffee, plates, cups) is about $107 per adult, $88 age 6-11 with 5 and under free. This represents about a 1.5% increase over the costs of food from the last reunion.

We are working to arrange for reservations at Lawsonia golf course for a little tourney on Friday from 8:00 to 1:00. Check it out at www.lawsonia.com. More information will be coming in the next activity letter.

There is no payment necessary for the family T-shirts this year, but Diane will need information about sizes and numbers from each of the families. The forms are attached again for your convenience. Please send them by July 1.

The activity schedule is being finalized now and will be out this week. Carla will be contacting each of the family members for their specific responsibilities. We’re leaving lots of the fun details to you!

Meanwhile, talk with your families and pray for us as we continue to plan. As always, we'd appreciate any new ideas you may have. Let's make our 2012 reunion a great time of sharing, laughing, loving, remembering, praying and worshipping together as we celebrate the love of our fantastic family.

T-Shirts! Get your T-Shirts!

Reunion T-Shirts are ready to be ordered! You should've received an email last week.

Make sure to print off the order form and send BY MAIL to Diane and Ron Leafblad. ***If you are unable to open the order form, EMAIL KATIE at leakat@bethel.edu and she can make sure you receive the information.

Make sure to print, fill out, and return the form to Ron and Diane at the address on the flyer BY JULY 1st.

If you haven’t registered at Green Lake for your housing yet—you can with our exclusivity until June 18, 2012.  After that, you can still register, but the rooms will have been released to be rented by general public as well.  But there will be plentyof rooms still available.

The planning has been going well.  Family responsibilities and assignments will be coming out soon as well, in a future email blast.

It Won't Be Long......

Lots of work has been going on behind the scenes to prepare for the 2012 Reunion. And many of you have already signed up for your housing. Keep those registrations coming!

As soon as we make a few more phone calls and plan a bit more, we will be emailing you a tentative schedule, some assignments, and instructions about ordering T-Shirts. Wait until the next email blast for those.

*A small coffee break price will be added to your rooms (See previous post)

*The picnic lunch will ONLY be incliuded for those who have registered in hotel rooms, NOT campers who didn't sign up for the food program
